Sheikh Jamaludin highlighted that the substances in wide circulation are frequently used by youngsters who use them alongside chewing miraa.
He pinpointed locations where these drugs are readily available, citing Mugoya Shopping Centre in South C, where he claimed young men are involved in drug peddling activities.
Expressing concern, the Imam stressed that these drug peddlers are deliberately targeting school-going children due to their vulnerability to addiction.
He lamented the lack of awareness among parents regarding their children's involvement in such activities, attributing this to them being occupied with household responsibilities.
The substances being commonly abused in the area as identified by the Imam, include miraa, bhang, and shisha.
Additionally, he claimed there's widespread misuse of over-the-counter drugs originally prescribed for medical purposes.
